I am partially through my Header Install and have run into a problem. The Torx bolts that attach the EGR pipe to the intake manifold are stuck in place and are starting to strip. Do I just cut it off? Does it need to be plugged? I've read the archives and it sounds like there' some threading in there to put like a drain plug in there. Help or suggestions would be great.
Thanks
Same thing happened to me. The EGR pipe was a PITA. It's been a while since my header install. I don't remember exactly how I removed it but I remember the pipe being bent to **** and cut when it was done with. I may still have it at home. Luckily my EM headers came with the holes undrilled so I didn't need to plug it. I've seen some others seal it off with some type of cap or bolt. The intake manifold EGR block off plates and gaskets can be bought from a few places for under $20. I used a nickle for about a year in one of the manifold plates to block the hole until I ordered the correct one.
If you are planning a cam install in the future you should not need the EGR. Mine flashed a code maybe once after about a year with no EGR. I have it programmed out now.

MY son made a block off plate from an old sign and bolted it up with a new gasket from material. We then powder coated the whole manifold when done.
