Default ZF 6 speed bellhousing
I am cleaning up a bellhousing. The inner surfaces appear to be painted black? Is this the way it came stock?

All of the ones I have seen are Natural/no paint.

Definitely notpainted stock, but clutch (black) dust will really stick to the inner surfaces to the point where you'll need to scrub with degreaser and a wire brush / brillow bad to get it off.

Default Bellhousing
I've tried "Gunk" and barbeque cleaner and lacquer thinner and the black staining isn't affected much. I'll try the Brillo pads next.
