Jeff, very sorry to hear this news..Most importantly is you are okay...as much as we become attached to our vettes, they are replacable, our lives aren't.

Thanks for the kind words everyone.

It is only a car but it seems like more.
What is it about these corvettes? They become almost family.

It must be all the work I have done on it myself and all the money I have spent on it.

It will be replaced but not forgotten.

This is the second C4 i've read about this week burning to the ground.

Jeff, sorry for your loss. But I'm glad you are personally ok. Burns suck, death is worse. In my line of work, I see too much of both.

For the rest of you guys, here is the lesson:

1) Keep fire extinguishers handy. I have one on each side of my lift.
2) Use battery powered LED lights.
3) Don't cut/grind/weld anywhere near FUEL.

Jeff, My God dude I am very sorry to hear about the loss of your vette however glad to hear you made it out although not unscathed you made it out and that is what counts. I share your pain. 4 years ago I lost my baby to a fire. 600 HP gone just like that. Hope to see you in another vette at the Cayuga soon buddy. If I can help in anyway just let me know.

Rick sent me the link to this thread. I can't imagine how you're feeling
right now, but as fellow forum member, I looked at the pics and I'm relieved to know you're alright. Here's hoping for a quick recovery from any injuries to you and another hoping for a generous insurance settlement to come.

87 Rag, Iam glad you are ok but I hate to see this picture. My first Vette was a 92 Vert, it was a beautifaull Vette, my ex wife burned it and I wish she burns here on earth and in hell too.

I know your pain man but, bounce back and get back in a Vette! Hate to mention this but, this is tax deductible for 2008 taxes as a loss etc, your next Vette, the sales tax is also tax deductible

Good Luck Man!
