I have a '91 coupe , high miles but very well cared for.
I changed the heater core last summer . That of course entails a lot of dash component removal. I put everything back together and all seemed fine. No leaks no squeaks !!
Except the climate control now behaves erratically , it will blow warm for a few minutes then blow cold. Or it will blow cold and then warm .
It seems like it searching for a temp range to maintain.
Thanks Tim, I appreciate the suggestion. The link refers to the stereo head unit. As I have just replaced the Heater Core I am familiar with removal and replacement procedure of just about everything back to the firewall. My climate control head unit responds to each button pushed and I'm thinking it is more likely a sensor.
I am wondering if I may have damaged a sensor while cleaning up in there.
There is a sensor located in the centre vent above the glove compartment that looked very dirty so I cleaned with a Q tip . Also the Sunload sensor looked a little suspect , in that the plastic parts were very brittle from the sun exposure.
Does anyone have any ideas on how to test these or where to source replacement sensors ??
