Default Which Carbotech brake pad

I need to replace the pads on my 92 Coupe. I plan on doing my first and probably my only HDPE in May at Pocono. Just want to drive on a track. other then that I put about 7500 miles a year of local and highway driving which include "spirted" driving when possible..

this is from the Carbotech web site:
AX6™ is an excellent choice for Autocross & novice track day drivers and beginner high performance driver education (HPDE) drivers on street driven cars using street tires eliminating the need to change brake pads at the track. AX6™ has gained tremendous popularity with SCCA Prosolo/Solo2 competitors for its fantastic bite, release & modulation. Many drivers use the AX6™ for street driving as well, even though Carbotech doesn’t recommend street driving with AX6™ due to possible elevated levels of dust and noise.

I spoke with the Carbotech rep and he said that the AX6 might be a little noisy until they warm up. under normal driving conditions, how long do they take to "warm up" ?

Thanks for you help ......

A couple of stops and they've warmed up. Note that the beauty of this pad is that they have nearly the same stopping power cold as they do hot.

My observation is the opposite to what the rep told you about the noise though. They are quiet until warm. When they warm up they sound like a dump truck coming to a stop. They also produce a lot of dust.

I've been running thier Panther's as my "street" pad. I forgot to take the fronts of and put on my xp10's for a weekend at Road Atlanta last year. They stood up to the abuse well. I think all of thier pads are "dusty", even after taking side streets to the highway and going a long way before stopping there is always a light dusting on my rims.

Just my $0.02
