Red light on dash

bought an 87 coupe. Can anyone tell me what the red light on the dash just left of the radio is? Had the dash face removed and the wires to the red light were disconnected. Can't seem to find anything about it in the owners manual. Thanks in advance.

Its no a light that GM put there, could be that the previous owner installed an after-market security system.

This panel is easy to remove and replace and a likely candidate for the alarm led.

Thanks, you appear to be right. I have since found some repair receipts from previous owner showing "alarm removed and returned to factory wiring"
