I've got a noise comming from the rear of the car. It like duh duh duh duh that gets quicker when you get faster. Its not a knocking or a scraping, somewhere in between. What are your thoughts? :o
I say tires are the first place to look. Check your rear tires all the way around. I suspect you might find them to be a little more worn at one point than the rest of the tire. Had the same kind of noise, sure enough tires were flat spotted. New tires, no more noise.
The tires do need replacing, I'll change them and hopefully it should solve the problem.... It has a set of toyo proxes T1R on it atm. Any one heard of these? Any good recommendations of tires?

I have the ticking noise problem on the drivers side . I replaced the u-joints on the 1/2 shaft---still ticking--Could it be the main Drive shaft u-joints????

I put Goodyear Eagle F1 tires on mine and I think they're great !
Ok had the wheels off today and couldn't see/hear any problems with the u-joints. Going to have to wait till payday to get a new set of tires, I'll let you know if it solves the prob. Time for tire research!
why don't you get together with another c4 owner, swap tires,go for a short ride and pay attention to the noise...then you'll know.-
If the noise went to the other car ....its TIRES ! .....tired tires !
I flipped the tires left front and right front---in reverse rotation as indicated and the clicking noise disappeared---The TIRE guys were right!! in this case anyway---Many Thanks!!!!
