Are you getting any power to the car? Like any interior lights, gauges, DIC, etc? Battery terminals tight? Any click at starter? Did you try to jump it? Make sure it is in park or neutral.

I had a similar problem on my 91 L98 a month ago. There was no click at the starter, but some gauges powered up with the key. I checked the fuses...or so I thought. I guess I just checked the ones that I thought could prevent it from starting. Then I looked at the wiring diagrams. The diagrams pointed to the L.C.D. fuse (sends 12 vdc to the CCM). I went back and checked that fuse and it was blown. It is a 5 amp fuse in the fuse panel. I put a new fuse in and it cranked right up. Check it and let us know, matter of fact, check ALL fuses.

the only fuse that was blown out was the (power lock) that was located under the dash. i jump the the starter by the relay under the steering wheel and car cranked up but i think i dont have power to the fuel pump too. I'm assuming its the central control module (ccm). some one told me to check the keys, would the keys create this problem and how do i check the keys.

thanks

Unplug the clutch safety switch (gear selector sw if auto) and jump the connector and measure the voltage on the jumper when you hit crank position. If you have 12v and no cranking, then you have a defective starter solenoid or starter, bad battery connection, discharged or a battery at the end of its life. If no 12v, then pull the kick panel above the drivers feet and find the 2 wires from above the steering column that goes to a 2 pin connector and unplug. Insert ign key and measure the resistance across the 2 wires from the steering column. It should measure the same as the pellet. If more than 4% from the pellet or over 13k ohms, you need a new ign lock which will have new contacts that make connection to the pellet. You can temporarily bypass VATS until you can get the new lock by connecting a fixed resistor across the two wires from the wiring harness (goes to VATS module) the same value as your pellet. You can use 1/4 watt 5% resistor/s from Radio Shack. Don't permanently bypass VATS because 99% of thefts are done by bashing the column and jumping the ignition.
