Default Will these fit?

Newbie here, so please forgive if this is on the wrong forum. I have a 95 vert. It has OEM size tires in front and back. I am looking to get new wheels. I'm loooking at American Racing Torq Thrust II's. Looks like I will have to go 17 x 9.5 on all four corners. Will the front 255/45 tire fit on this rim? Thanks for the help, guys.

Yes, they will fit. But your stock front wheel is only 8.5" wide, so it will look a little different.

I went with the 9.5 wheels on my '96 and didn't like the look of the 255/45 tire on the new wheel.
But it was perfectly acceptable and within the specs of the tire. I just didn't like the look, so I replaced the 255/45 tire with a 275/40.

Thanks a lot for your help. Did going to a 275/40 on the front affect the handling of the car any? Did you notice a change in the steering?

Earlier cars like my 1989 Z51 came with 9.5" rims all around. They handle great and you can rotate tires front to rear. Get 275 width tires for best results.

No change that you could notice in normal street driving. I don't track the car, so I can't say how it might handle under extreme conditions.

Also, as BADDUCK mentioned some C4's actually came with the 275/40 all the way around.
