Well, i guess the cable finally broke. When i turned the car off, the motor ran, and ran, and ran, and ran, and ran, and ran, and ran, and ran, and ran, and ran, and ran!! I know that i can get a repair kit for $18, but i would rather get an antenna that is hidden. Dont they make those? Please let me know. Thanks.
Exactly. Do you mean one that never comes out of the fender? Hidden antennas have been glass mounted, mounted under the body, etc. They all have poor reception. For optimal FM reception, you need a 31" vertical shaft. I would stay away from "hidden" antennas.
Or you could get a new windshield like the old school ones that had the antenna inbetween the panes of glass :jester :jester My dad's old pontiac perizian (no clue how to spell that) had this.. and it was very annoying ....
As unpopular as this opinion may be, I *hate* power antennas. I believe they're not as good at reception as rigid antennas, and they *always
* break. It's a tight squeeze to replace the whole unit - I gave up and had D&M Corvette do it - $300.
Is there a rigid replacement available for the C4? I don't need it now, but I'd like to get better reception...this might open up a conversation for reception amplifiers...
