For starters my car is an iron head '86 with long tubes and cat back. I have never been racing before so your feedback regarding the time slip would be helpful. The thing I'm must happy about was getting 27.3 mpg on the 90 mile drive to Bristol dragway. I ran three times and here are the numbers from my best pass.
R/T .626
60 2.155
330 5.936
1/8 9.120
MPH 77.71
1000 11.841
1/4 14.154
MPH 97.08

For that MPH I's guess you have 3.07 gears to get that ET.
What's the drive train like, stock, etc??
BTW, from that RT I'd say you need to leava on the 3rd yellow, soon as the bulb is lit.

Sounds pretty good to me for a fairly stock '86. I'd guess your 60' time could be a little bit better even on street tires, which might be enough for 13's.
Is your car an automatic, or 4+3?
Did you have fun?

Not a bad time slip. All that matter's is that you had a great time.
My first time at the strip when my car was 100% stock which is how I bought it. I trapped 98.5 mph which was about what it was supposed too.
Take care!

Not a bad time at all. I ran my 99% factory 86 Iron Head at my local track (Moroso Motorsports Park, Jupiter, FL) and my best time was a 14.19 with a 1.89 60' on street tires. After the first run, I could not get the crappy Futura tires that are currently on the car to hook up at all. My motor is all stock. Only change that has been done was an upgrade to the Dana 44 with 3.73 gears (done before I bought the car...I will be replacing with a 4 link 12" GM rear with spooled 4.56's, shortly). I would say your time is very respectable!!

ExploreIt's a 4+3 with a 3.07. Stock except for the exhaust.
I was having some problems on the start, Bristol's track seems slightly uphill. I had to keep my foot on the brake in order to keep from drifting backwards. So I wasn't able to get a good launch. I guess that was hurting my R/T, having to go from brake to gas then drop the cluth.
