I believe I have a AC problem brewing. At or about 2250 rpm's the car has a very noticable rumble/vibration. If I turn the A/C off it goes away. What do you think Clutch or compressor?
Another question, I have another used compressor but I am comcerned about how is was stored... Don't want to install it only to find I gotta do it again soon after that!? What is the real deal on used compressors?
Could be worn clutch bearings........worn (stretched) belt. If the spare compressor was stored properly, it should be fine. If it was left open to the elements, I wouldn't risk it personally.
Sounds like the compressor is getting ready to seize up. Take the belt off and turn it by hand to see if it is binding up. The 'other' compressor might be OK, check it by hand as well and also check how much prag oil is in it.
Thanks guys! I am pretty sure this is gonna cost a few bucks. Hey pretty soon this car will be brand new because I have replace so many parts. These cars really start coming apart at 115-120K.
Is it OK to drive it some with the AC off for a few hundred miles. I am guessing not.

Normally you coujld drive it for years with the AC off. As long as the bearings in the AC clutch are intact it will just act like an idler pulley.
To be sure you don't accidentally turn it on just unplug the wires to the compressor clutch. Again, pull the belt and check first.
