Default Hooker header, fitment Q's.

Yes, I did do a search.

I am running the uncoated hookers w/o the emissions hook ups on vortec heads in my '84.

I was wonder what plugs you guys use? I bought some Accel header plugs (98s) but the threaded end was about 0.25-0.125" shorter than the standard NGK plugs for the vortec truck application. So the electrode would have been recessed into the plug hole. And the porcelain side was barely shorter than the regular plugs too! Header plugs my ***.

2nd: One of the primary's is touching the hard brake lines coming off of the master cylinder. I think I can gently bend them out of the way. Is this normal? Or maybe an '84 only thing?

3rd: The bolts running through the motor mounts are very close to the headers but do not touch. My bro and I were wondering if these would hit when the engine gets to rocking a little bit? We could take them out and put the bolts in with the head facing the firewall for some more clearance, but that would be a PITA at this point.

4th: It looks like the pipe coming off of the header collector on the driver side will end up very close to, or possibly touching the bleeder valve of the clutch slave cylinder. I have a ZF6 and it's the slave cylinder from a ZF car.

5th: Will heat soaking the starter be an issue? I have an LT1 starter, I am about to pull the trigger on some header wrap because I absolutely hate when that happens.

Thank you,
Keith

The straight pluggedness of the Vortecs appears to be screwing me.

But what about the brake lines?

On question 1, did you swap your motor for a vortec engine???

2) dont know 84's well enough

3) reverse the bolt, many people do this.

4) you mean the Reducer or an actual pipe?

5) How close, you need to give more info.

If you've got the stock angle plug heads you'll be better off. I am going to run some boots on the wires. And possibly some header wrap. I'm not gonna do anything with the motor mount bolts until they start hitting.

I haven't decided how to tackle the brake line issue yet though.
