The fans started coming on with a cold engine and then an SES light... had it scanned and coded a knock sensor ( so I was told)... had two new sensors put in this afternoon, left the shop and 10 miles later the fans come on (192 degrees) and the SES light :mad .. any clues out there ?? all help is appreciated...
Sounds like you ended up hitting some kind of limp home mode routine since the fans were comming on with the engine cold.
Go out, turn the key ON and see if the fans come on. If they do, go back to the shop and set em straight. Unless you specifically told them to replace the knock sensors instead of 'fix my problem', they should make ammends with you. -Matt-
Thanks for the thought 85... just turned it on... no fans... my corvette guy coded it as knock sensors and replaced both.. something is making the fans come on below 220 degrees  ..guess I'll have to show up at his shop Monday and see what the SES codes this time...
My 96 set codes for the knock sensors that ended up (likely) being a bad computer. After it set about 6 codes at once they swapped it out - and 3 computers later it was fixed. Yes, they got 2 bad ones in a row. Gotta love "remanufacturing".
