security system??
Ive got an 88 vette, car has been running great until just lately. The running lights stay on and there is a tone like the key is in the ignition.This happens with the key out and doors closed. The car will start and it runs fine, although the lights remain on.The key tone stops while it is running. If i shut the car off the tone resumes and the lights remain on. I have to disconnect the battery to avoid killing it. Any ideas??? Oh, I did a diacom scan, everything is fine..........

If the lights are on when you shut the car off, then you will hear that tone.
You don't have to have the headlights on either, as just the parking lights will cause it.
Look at your light switch, and make sure it's in the off position.
