If it wasn't for bad luck I'd have no luck at all . help.... my 84 just died today while driving
I stopped for a red light and it lost all power. it was raining and the roads were wet.... when I turned the key nothing. I had head lights and interior lights but nothing else, the wipers stopped the radio stopped working. the first thing I thought was to try a loose cable to the starter no luck. I had the car flatbedded home and after checking some things I found the fuse panel seems to have no power there are only two fuses that test hot they are the clk and the tail fuses all the other fuses seem to be dead I have no shop manuels or even an owners manuel can someone steer me from here. why would I have no power at the fuses, I had the key in the on position. what should I check for next... any help would be appreciated.
Quick, order yourself a factory service manual. While you're there, you can order an owner's manual, too if you like. The owner's manual won't help with the problem, but, that is the source. On the '84 all the power comes from fusible links attached to the large stud on the starter solenoid with the battery cable. I'd start there looking for a burned up fusible link. The wiring supplement and whole car wiring schematics that come with the FSM will give you excellent guidance.
Thanks for the advice I do know I need a repair manuel but i was hoping for some answers on what to check right now I dont think it is the fuseable link due to the fact that I have some power . Any help please thanks randy

you didn't really listen to CFI did you?
fusible links..........are all the positive wires hooked the fusible Links?
I'm sure links being plural was not a mistake that CFI would make.
