Default 89' ECM Tuning

Gonna be building an engine for an 89' mildly modified about a 375 HP engine.
Question: Can the 89' ECM be tuned or do I need a 8746 from a 93' Camaro or something like that?
What are you guys doing out there?

Thanx

What mods are you planning to run? And, are you going to larger displacement? 375hp out of a mildly-modified '89 will be tough.

Either way, your stock computer can handle it. There may be a little bit of guesswork at the top end if you exceed the limits of the MAF logic, but you can add needed fuel in power enrichment.

I'm not quite sure at this point what were going to do as far as Mods.

Your Right I didn't think the stock TPI would handle 375 ponies.

What mods ,Cam,Heads etc. do you think would get us up there around 325- 350 HP?

I don't see why it can't be used with the proper re-programming. Give Alvin at PCMFORLESS a call and discuss the performance parts you're running.

Unless you try something really strange your 1989 ECM will be fine. I assume you will be doing heads, cam, intake.

Check out the results of a TPI buildup on my site; I think you can get 375chp with modified TPI.

my setup.........Hot Cam, Tpis ported 113's, self ported Tpis base/Accel runners, 24 lb Ford injectors, AFPR. 322 rwhp/ 397 rwtq. Idles and runs great w/ the stock chip. (not touched) The MAF setup handles the changes pretty well compared to the speed density cars.
