tpi install progress, what do you think it'll run?
gosh they look gorgeous. tomorrow is my busy day to finish it up.. i only have class in the morning, then i have to go pickup my corvette from the exhaust shop then im coming home to go to town on the iroc, im hoping to at least be firing it up tomorrow. i couldnt do anything tonight because i dont have an oil pump primer, im going to prime the motor tomorrow put the water pump on and hook everything up, and turn the key hopefully all goes well. well heres the pics what ya think, i know its just a camaro but this car is my pride and joy, it was my first car and i did absolutely everything to it myself except for the paint, but i did paint these intake pieces. i plan on taking the intake assembly apart on my corvette and doing the same thing with it.

ok so here is the setup just wondering what you guys think it will run??
305, stock internals and rebuilt stock heads, l98 tpi cam, afpr, slp runners, edlebrock t.e.s shorties and cutout, 5-speed, and 3.45 posi.
before with the car complete stock except for the flowmaster exhaust it ran a 15.4.. that was with the automatic and 2.73 gear, no headers, no cutout, no engine work period it needed a tuneup something terrible. it sat for three years, i bought it, drove it a little and raced it that one time. and that was a 15.4 @88mph
i dont want to aim high so i am going to guess i will run around a 14.8x at about 95.. im not sure how it is going to do to be honest what do yall think? i will also have a 100 hp shot on there too but i will be runninig it mostly on motor.
You might also try a copla more simple mods:
-cut back spark plug electrodes, details on my site
-160deg T-stat & fan switch, or open the connector in A/C pressure line to bring on the fan
-hi-flow air filters and cut out the plastic below the filters
-remove the spare, jack and h/w
-arrive at the track with 1/3 tank of fuel
My '86 IROC-Z (3.45 gears) with similar ran mid 14s in good weather and it weighed around 3,700 lbs at launch.
Now I have an '88 IROC-Z that's nearly bone stock with 2.73 gears; love these cars.
BTW, love that candy-apple shade of red...
Good luck at the strip and let us know what numbers she runs.
.its nice to see one in good shape and just the name ''iroc'' sounds so cool

what was your setup on the 86?
and i already have done all the mods you listed except cutting back electrodes? what is that and how does that help anything?

The cut back plugs means cut back the ground electrode to the near edge of the center electrode, pics on my site. I read about it in TPIS's book and Dave Emanuel's book; it provides an improved flame front for more efficient charge burn and is worth around 8chp gain.
Good luck with the start up...
