How do I disconnect AIR pump ?
I see some people with 92-96 Vettes disconnect the AIR pump...
How does this improve performance?
Will this make my emissions bad? Or is it easy enough to reconnect when needed for emissions? Will any other things be affected?
My state has Emissions check, but it is mild, only for CO and CO2, no NOx emissions are tested.
Any other advice would be appreciated....
Should I touch my EGR? Would this improve anything?

If your AIR pump is driven by the serpentine belt removing it would reduce parasitic drag. This would allow more HP to be delivered to the rear wheels.
If they do a visual check removing this pump would fail of couse.
BTW, does the Kent area require the "E-Test like Summit Co?

Hi, thanks for the reply.
Looking into past posts about AIR pump, I see people have posted that on LT-1 engines, it runs electronically. That would probably be less drag anyways as opposed to belt driven, Also I read somebody's post saying that it doesn't weigh much anyways on the LT-1 . Pre LT-1 C4's it weighs 25 pounds....
Yes, Kent is in Portage County which is right next to Summit County (Akron area). Both counties have to do E check, and the test is the same.
