Low idle at startup on 85

Low idle at startup on 85
My 85 vette starts up readily. However, the idle is so low that I have to keep my foot on the pedal for a few to keep it going. After I drive it for a while, it behaves normally. This is especially so if I do not drive the car for a day or so. If it is driven daily, the low idle problem does not seem to appear. I changed the fuel filter a couiple days ago, but that did no good. Aftyer driving a few miles, the car drives great. Any ideas as to what is wrong??

Thanks, I will replace the IAC as soon at it arrives from Eckler's. If I remove it for cleaning, I might as well go ahead and replace it. Same labor and time involved. Thanks for the reply.
