Hmm How much did that cost it came with the car i was thinking of upgrading it to a pioneer deck but idk checking all my options.
I think it was about $150, including shipping both ways. It came back better than new, palys every CD (homemade, etc) with no skips. It is a personal thing, but I would rather keep my dash factory looking.

For what it's worth, there's a local guy here who has been in business for a long long time.
I had my Sequoia radio fixed by him. I asked about home burned CDs.
He said that when you burn music on home CDs, burn it at the lowest possible speed. The slower the burn the better it works. Burning as 12X is more effective than at 52X.
I don't know if it's true or not, but that's what he told me.
I have the same problem on my 93...something in the back of my mind remembers that if the battery has been disconnected, the cd part needs reset by the dealer...anybody heard of this, or am I senile?

There are some totally unrelated car functions related to the radio control buttons (or A/C control buttons). Can't remember which tho'...

C5s have some kind of radio security system, not on the C4s as far as I know.

The C4 Bose radio's from '90 to '96 have a security feature that, if set, will need to be reset. For more information on C4 Audio, go to the Audio section of the forum and read the C4 sticky, everything you need to know about working on your stereo system.
I have had my HU, receiver out and battery disconnected and I have never reset anything.
Also, drove for a couple days without a reciever and had no issues.
I read the C4 audio faq and did not see anything about security in 90-96 vettes.
Maybe w/Delco, but not with Bose.
