Been awhile guys, but need help. Brought the 92 LT1 out of storage and decided I should get a new battery this year as the old one was pretty weak.
Installed a new battery and car fired up and ran very nice. Went for a drive. Put it in the garage and a while later I noticed the interior lights were on, the security light flashing ( like it does when a doors open) and a door ajar light on. Trouble is there is no door ajar. All I did was change the battery. Nothing else. Checked all the doors and hatch and they are all closed tight.
If I turn the key on and then off again the lights go out. I exit the car, close the door and everythings fine. A few minutes later the interior lights come on again.
Any ideas? Is it just that the computer needs to reset itself and would with a long drive over 60 mph?
I need to use the car tomorrow for a track day. It does start and runs fine though.
Aha!!!! Its a coincidence, not to do with the battery change. I reconnected the battery and went for a drive. The interior lights began to flicker on and off. Power window down lights on, window up lights off, then they start to flicker again. Shake the door, they flicker even more and they flicker over the bumps too.
Ten days ago a guy backed into the drivers door and damaged it a bit (he's going to pay to have it fixed). Got an estimate for 984.00. Could the door switch have a wire knocked loose? I checked the spring tension on both door switches and its good. Loose wire inside?
I pulled the number 1 fuse for now. They're off.

Nope, just didn't put it together with the battery change because I noticed it right after that. Should have though.....duh.
Always defaulting to blame the computer or vats system. Aren't we all lol.
