I have had some people say that the ET Street Drag Radial tire is terrible in the rain. I would be basically only driving with this tire to and from the track. Of couse it does rain here in NY so I may be raining hard when I have to drive home. I would think if you just slow down it should be ok. Any comments? Presently running Nitto drag radials, but spin them too much at the track. Never had any problems with them in the rain.
Also. Anyone tried to use the wider 315/35R17 on the 9.5 inch stock rim? Just checking.
Never driven in heavy rain but found them very stable (60 mph ) on saturated road with light rain after a thunderstorm.
Unless you put you foot into it.
I have heard that they become unmanageable even at slow speeds in the rain. When I go to the drag strip, if there is ANY chance of rain, I'll but the MT's in the rear hatch area (yes, two will fit with careful planning) and then change tires at the track. Many times I've been very happy to drive home in the rain on my Pirellis. YMMV.

I had them, they are fine in the rain, as long as you dont try to do any hard acceleration. if you are into drifting, they do that well in the wet, otherwise, they are fine.
you can drive them in rain, pouring or otherwise, you just have to moderate the throttle.
this was on my 11 second grand national, so you can imagine how touchy that throttle was with slight boost.
I'm one of those guys that drive their car to the track prep'd and ready to go.
I've been in the rain with my MT ET streets 275/17s. I was in light-to-moderate rain on a highway and at 50MPH I would hydro easily.. one puddle caused my rear to slide to the left which I followed the skid by steering to the left. When I finally had traction I was in the on comming lane, if another car had been there it would have been very bad.
I will not drive over 35MPH in the rain with MT ET streets.
