Any help is GREATLY appreciated! I have a considerable amount of sqeaking from the front of the car. Always when driving. I think it happens as the car's body torques/adjusts to the road. I have since installed the hood felt silenser(on the bottom of hood near the windshield, and also added more felt silenser on the front of the removable top.
My guess is that the noise may be coming from the hood when driving. Maybe the hood is twisting too much, or the side louvers need adjustment so that they're not so tight against the hood? Would the short squeaks be coming from the rubber bumpers that the hood closes against? Would adding lubrication to them help?
I've fixed a lot of the other noises in the car, but this one is driving me nuts. Any help is appreciated!
Re: HELP! Troubleshooting sqeaking noise from front (1510)
Seeing as you live in Michigan, I presume it’s getting colder and colder there. In the winter time rubber material will contract, leaving more space, henceforth squeak squeak ...(Just one option to think about)
Re: HELP! Troubleshooting sqeaking noise from front (1510)
I had the same problem. It sounded like a herd of gerbils under the hood right in front of the windshield somewhere. As it turned out, the pins that latch into the hood release had lost their lubrication. I dabbed a bit of lithium grease on each one and no more squeak.
Re: HELP! Troubleshooting sqeaking noise from front (1510)
Lubricating the pins helps. Don't forget that there is a rubber grommet that is supposed to be installed in the metal hole that the pins slide into. Also, the pins just screw out, and often they come loose. Check to make sure they are tight.
Lastly, I couldn't determine what yaer Corvette you own, but GM has recently introduced a heavy duty hood latch kit that is nothing short of awesome. It includes new springs, cables, latch handle, etc. Once you install the new kit, you will wonder why you waited so long. It really firms up the front end, and prevents rattles.
You can contact 18Carfan (Jeff Kopp) +1 (800) 728-8267 and he will know the part number. The cost is very reasonable.

My Vette had the same squeak. I use white lithium grease on the pins and now there is no more squeaking!!!!!
Re: HELP! Troubleshooting sqeaking noise from front (PurpleC4)
It worked! Sqeak gone. My 92 doesn't have the rubber or plastic bushings in the whole that the pin goes into. Is it something that is supposed to be there...also something I could probably order from the dealer. Or is it aftermarket?
Thanks.
Now that this noise is gone....onto the next. Seems like a significant amount of road noise is coming from the rear. I may look into possible installation of dynamat in the back next. Any experiences?
