the compressor has a power plug to the clutch, when plugged in it blows the 25 amp fuse for the system, checked out every thing else and this is what blows the fuse. the compressor and clutch are only about 2 years old, but when i pull up on the wires that go into the clutch there is a jingle there? what gives? why is it blowing the fuse?
sounds like you may have a short. Put an ohm-meter on it and tug while checking. 25A is alot of current, so I am guessing hard short from power to ground.
i think so too, the compressor turns for a few seconds before blowing the fuse, is there supposed to be a clinking sound and movement of somthing to those wires behind the clutch?

The 2 male leads that are located behind the clutch should have no play or "jingle" at all. An ohmeter will tell you right away if you are shorting the 12v lead to ground inside the casing. If this is NOT the case, someone else mentioned a seized compressor, which would also frag a 25A fuse....In this case, the clutch engages, trys to rotate a seized compressor, draws more and more current to try to turn it...and poof, the clutch draws in excess of 25A.
Usually with a seized compressor, you can smell the clutch burning....just a nasty smell...
