96 LT4: I've got my motor out to replace the LT4 that exploded, and I found that one of my motor mounts is broken completely in half. Since my car is track only, I'm looking for some solid mounts to replace them. All I could fine was this thread: http://forums.corvetteforum.com/show...t1+motor+mount
but it doesn't really give any info for LT1's.
Thus far, I haven't found anyone making/selling an LT1/4 solid motor mount. I guess I could use poly; other than knock sensor concerns, I don't see any reason not to use the sturdiest mount I can find. I really don't think a motor plate is worth it, since it will really screw up the mounting of all the accessories.
I was never able to find solid mounts either. The good thing is that the LT1/4 mounts are actually a pretty simple design to fab up, though. I just made a set for my car out of 3/16 plate and steel bushing tube. If you have access to a cuttoff wheel and a welder, the whole fab process took about an hour.
I'm actually getting really close to putting my engine back in. I might have a lead on some solid rubber mounts, but I'm waiting to see if Oreilly can get them. I've given up on solid mounts, but poly would be nice. Sadly, the only thing I think I can get are stock-style oil filled.
