At what lb of boost are you guys pulling timing ? and how much ?........for years running the p600b I haven't had to worry about it, but with the d1 I am getting boost earlier and more at high rpms, so it's time to adjust my timing table........thanks for the help..... Bert
The rule of thumb is about a degree per pound of boost... If you are running Water Methanol you may find you can be more conservative.
I generally log my runs, do a 25, 50, 75% throttle run looking at your knock retard after each run then you can pull some of the timing with programming , distributor setting or increase your BTM setting.
You mmay not need to pull timing at low boost. It all depends on how youare pulling timing. With a BTM it is a **** you set for 1-# degrees per pound of boost.
If you are programming your PCM /ECM then you can be more specific as towhere you are pulling the timing.
