Default Traction Control retard

What is a good table of traction control retard values? I figure 0-800rpm only needs 4deg since the car shouldn't ever lose grip then.

The times that I've lost traction (and needed it), I'm pushing it harder than I should on a wet surface, and I'm guessing my rpm's are around 1200-2500. The stock values are

1200- 25deg
1600- 30deg
2000- 31deg
2400- 32deg

When it does kick in, it REALLY kills the throttle... should i reduce these about 5deg? How much of a difference would 5deg make? I've found a few .bin from Ed Wright on misc internet sites and the retard is only 4 degrees all the way across the rpm range (which to me seems like it's just turning traction control off almost completely).

I know how to recover from the back end losing it, but I'd rather not have to worry about that sometimes as I can't detect it before the computer can. I usually only leave ASR on when it's wet out anyway, but even then I think that it retards a little too much.

I would just try cutting those values in half maybe. I wouldn't disable it all together, that's what the button on the dash is for! You may wish you still had it when you get caught in an ice storm or something..... I drive my car everyday, and last winter a bad freeze came up at 3 in the afternoon, and by 5 it was pretty bad. My 4 mile trip home took over 30 minutes waiting in line idling down the road.

I'm going to try about 33% off of those values and by the time I finally get all this together and working I can try it out on a rainy day and see exactly how much 5-10 deg of retard effects controling the car still. thanks marcho :)

Your system must be different from mine. My ASR always detects wet wheelspin after I have eased off the throttle. I usually end up fighting it once it kicks in. Try accelerating from gravel with it and have it kick in once you get on the road.

I'd leave it the way it is if you want it to be effective, otherwise use the values in the modified chip you found.
