Guys, I'm still confused on this.

I see many other posts regarding doing this and several say you DO need a different camshaft - I thought the pins were different length or something.

Lichen - so you still have the 93' camshaft in your car?

I used the same camshaft with both optis, but it is a Comp cams part not stock. The key is that the older cams need to have the splined hole for the opti drive pin. The newer optisparks are driven from the offset cam pin instead of the splined pin in the center. You have to have a specific LT1 cam for the older style optispark.

If your cam has a pin on it then it will work, worst case the pin may be longer so just cut it down in length.

PM me your email and I'll send the document. You inbox is full...

Just cleaned it out, and OK I think I'm clear on the cam thing now, once I get everything off I'll know. If it doesn't have the pin I'll probably throw a different cam in while I'm in there!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I tried my ignition module on a 1996 LT1 and it ran it fine. Apparently the old ICM's run the new cars but the new style won't run the old cars.

Weird.

I'll check the two wiring diagrams...

Also, so the newer cars have a crank sensor? So I'll have to add this?
Where did you buy the jumper harness?
