That's simply amazing!:D

As I recall, Phil's set up is ported L98 heads+cam on a stock short block. He is probably the fastest heads and cam C4 in the country!

Nice job:)

Thats awesome. I live a couple miles from Capitol Drag Raceway in Crofton, Md. I wish I had known, so I could have seen it. They have some fast street cars there (Not mine  ) Hope I get to see it some time.

I got an email from him... he ran a 1.49 60 ft, 10.99 @ 123 mph on the pass !!!! he backed it up with a few 11 flats. This is with the stock L98 shortblock !!!! Pretty impressive.... its a 90 with a little bit of weight removed, Mini-ram, heavily ported D-ports, ZZ9 cam, a very, very healthy 4500 rpm ATI torque converter in a th350, and I think he's running 4.30 gears... but could have been only 4.11's, don't remember.

Thats call optimization... he's doing more with what he has than anybody I know.... Congrats Phil !!! :):) Goes to show you that anything is possible.

cheers
Beach Bum

Thanks to all for your recognition. The word sure does travel fast.I was going to surprize one friend of mine by sending him the ET slip, but he got wind of it first.
I even had was decent RT's..5576, .5973 and .5968,but I was not really trying to kill the tree.I was experimenting with shift point and lowered it by 200rpm.I did not get a chance to retest by raising it back up.
Beach,I'am currently running 4.30 gears.
Two of the three most exciting times in the 6 years that I have owned the car were when I ran a 12.95 about 5 years ago and now a 10.99.
The 12.95 run was exciting ,because it was run with only slicks, headers and TPIS FastPak.The 10.99 was great ,because it was so close yet so far away when I was running 11.0's.
So here the ET slip for proof. :yesnod:
Thanks...Phil
