My head light door on the passenger side sometime does not open all the way and sometime it will open but will shake a little while before locking into the wide open position. The electrical motor continue to run after I turn off the headlight for a few seconds afterwards. Is this my gears going out in the motor.
I think you have the same setup as in my '88, in which case just order the three nylon bushings for about $4.00 from MAD. Your's are likely powder by now.
But first try to move the door with the manual ****. If there is a lot of play before the door moves it's the bushings.

 Found the same problem on my 88 last weekend
If they are anything like the ones on the 84 there is nothing to changing them. You have to take out the whole headlight door butt. but it it real easy to do, when you put in the motors and new gears coat everything with grease! And if its is like the 84 dont forget to put the solid spacer into the gear, I forgot, re-installed the whole thing and had to take it right back out!
There's a very good how to article on replacing the bushings. I replaced mine last weekend and now everything works perfect. I had the same exact symptoms you have. The bushings are real cheap around $5 plus shipping from ecklers.
