I borrowed a scan tool (Autoxray EZ-Scan 3000) and am looking to get some data from my '86. Only thing is, I'm not getting any correct data in real-time mode, which is what I want.
Coolant temp stays at 124.7
Engine RPMs aren't even close to what they really are
TPS is all over the place -- even when its idling. I'm talking like .2V to 4.5V
Where do I start to get this giving me the right data? I've already programmed the scanner for the car, and reset it. Still doesn't work right.
Did you set the scanner for your car? You have to configure the scanner. Power on, press CONFIG..Enter.Up..down keys until the correct vehicle mfg is highlighted..Enter...then it should be right ...left key and match up with the 8th digit from you VIN code on the car.
