Thinking of changing 1989 auto trans with 3.73 rear end to 6 speed manual trans. Do I need to change the 3.73 rear end, what are the pro's and con's to this setup if possible? Thanks, Sean
If your rear in the car is still a Dana 36, it won't stand up to the abuse it will receive from a stick.
Besides that, a 3.73 or 4.10 would work very well with a 6spd.

my problem was choosing between the 3.73 and 4.10, I ended up with a 3.90 and love it
I did the swap,new zf for $1500.i used 373's
i think 390's would be better.swap was a
lot of work but easy if you are good with
your hands.also central coaster helped
with info.
