Default Can't open convertible deck lid

I have a 91 convertible that I can't get the deck lid open on. The cable came off of the actuator and I don't know where I should push/pry or pull!

The passenger side pops open, but the drivers side won't release.

Any ideas?

I'm assuming that you are referring to the electric (solenoid) button release button, not the release pins for the top itself. Do you hear the solenoid release actuate?

On the '94, the electric button release is on the drivers side and usually the passenger side hangs. Be sure you are on a level surface when you try opening it. Sometimes if you push down on the side that hangs while pushing the button it helps to take pressure off the latches.

I can''t see the solenoid(s) even with the deck in the open position, just the latches (like on the doors) that catch the hooks mounted on the deck. I'll get my FSM out and see if it shows the latch assembly.

I do hear the solenoid release actuate. The problem is that the cable attached to the release has come off. There is a manual pull, but that won't work either beause the cable is off. I need to get the hook free from the latch on the drivers side.
