Default For the 50 millionth time :help:

89 Coupe, no heater core, don't care if there is heat to my oil cooler,
and I'd like to bypass the throttle body. I'm confused as all hell where
to run to and from. Should I just run from the horizontal nipple that
points to the passenger side off the water pump to the nipple that
points forward off the intake?

Please help!

See where the hoses go into and out of the TB?

Connect those together, or run a new hose from where those 2 enter the rest of the system.

Just run a hose from the nipple in the intake to the hard line on the pass.inner fender.
Oooops, no heater core. Go from intake nipple to waterpump nipple.

Imagine my suprise when I pulled the hose off the water pump nipple,
and coolant kept leaking forever...

Another reason for removing the long hoses, first: they don't do any-
thing now that my heater core is dead, second: in Arizona, we have
heat issues, never cold-I don't need heat to my oil cooler base, if
that is where that pipe goes...

What hard line on the inner fender? Closest thing I see is down low under the a/c compressor....and what about the nipple on the water pump?

Another thing....can I remove that small coolant line that goes to the
back of the intake (it used to t into the heater hose)...

After searching more and more, I see that member hooblyboobly has
plugged all of the heater hose ports, which I can do, but still no
mention of this little line...

that little line actually burps the system - you can put a vacuum cap with a zip tie to hold it on there

that is the highest part of the cooling system on a tpi

A zip-tie? Serious? Seem like it would blow that right off?

Thanks for responding!

If a vacuum cap worked on his, good FOR him.

A vacuum cap is thinner, and is gonna' 'pull' onto the orifice by air vacuum - negative pressure.

Coolant is POSITIVE pressure. PLUS HEAT! I wouldn't go that way.

If re-routing all your coolant lines ain't right after 50 million tries, or even half a dozen tries, why not restore the original configuration?

Reducing the volume of coolant doesn't help cooling very much.

I guess I need to clarify...I meant the number of throttle body bypass threads that we have...

My heater core is shot, and it's a weekend car in Arizona, so I'll never
need a heater anyway. I also want to bypass the throttle body, and
I want to get rid of all of the heater hoses to clean things up.

let me restate that, I used a vacuum plug - they are a heavier duty rubber not the cheapo colored versions.

Shifter, if your not confident with a zip tie, use a hose clamp, the smalll ones for fuel injection will work nicely.

I'm understanding that that line is to heat the EGR solenoid to 176 degrees...I have to pass emmisions, but it's usually hot when I go anyway....is plugging it going to affect driveability?
