Fuel sending unit wiring schematic needed?

Fuel sending unit wiring schematic needed?
HELP! Could someone please post a wiring schematic of the Fuel level sending unit from the tank to the dash gauge ? Any year C4 will do.
I cleaned the resistive coil(which is used as a potentiometer) and verified that the resistance has a smooth transition from top to bottom of the float travel. My gauge, however, continues to bounce between "Full" and "3/4 Full" , no matter how much gas is in the tank.
I am flying blind until I get my FSM, and I would like to start troubleshooting this problem today.
