Is the amplifier in the 87 door panels in the front speakers? This may be my problem with the buzzing. I read some where that it was. Could the speaker still be working and the amplifier going out and making the buzzing noise? Thanks, in advance. Todd
On my '88 the amp is under the speaker. You can access the wires for it but I don't think you could remove it without taking the box out and opening up the box.
The speaker amp is in the speaker enclosure. My speakers had a constant buzz from on/no volume to complete volume. Remover the speaker grill and then remove the 4"speaker and disconnect it. If buzzing stop more than likely bad amp. Its the silver square box than you can see once the speaker is removed.

How do I disconnect it? I have the speaker out, but not sure how to properly disconnect the speaker. Thanks
I tried everything. And I figured out that it is simple reverberation from the speakers off the door and anything else in the door. Is there some kind of pad I can add? The only problem is that it is inside the door. Send Help Immediately!!!!!
Speakers and Amp are working fine. It's just reverberation.
Could I add some sort of padding to put behind the speaker and would that work? Any Ideas!!!

"simple reverberation from the speakers off the door" Are you certain this is original equipment Bose? The original speaker is a 4" 1 ohm mounted in a solid plastic enclosure that contains a 12.5 watt amp and white batting and the enclosure is ported.
You are going to have to spend money buying parts, this isn't a fix with a screw or glue.
MidAmerican or Ecklers sell the whole enclosure for over $130 which includes speaker, amp, plastic enclosure. Amps alone are $75. Bose told me this week they will sell the 4" 1 ohm speaker replacement for $40. Determine what you need and get it. Most stero places suggest replacing in pairs Another decent source is Ebay but make sure its 1987 Corvette Bose parts you are buying.
