How does it go on? When I removed it, I did it slow to tell which way it sprung loose, but the seal was tight, and I missed it.
It must be rotated clockwise or counterclockwise, and THEN positioned. If you attempt to drop it on with the screw holes positioned, the butterfly shaft tab hits the tangs in the sensor.
I don't know what year your car is but on my 93 it won't just slip straight on. If you rotate it a little so it feels like it missing the tangs then hold it there and reach over and move the throttle plate like youre stepping on the gas. If it keeps moving easily, then rotate the TPS to where you can push it on all the way, where the screws line up. Move the throttle plate again, if its still rotates then put the screws in.
I hope this makes sense. Just don't put the screws in if you can't move the throttle plate from the other side. The TPS will only rotate one way.
