Cutting the lower airbox?
Hi all,
With my LS1 F body we cut out the lower portion of the airbox to allow in more air.
Is there a similar mod like this for an LT1 vette?

What I did was cut the stock air lid, then bend it down into a scoop for incoming air through the license plate area.
Not sure if your year is any different.
The stock air filter housing is very heavy, but it works very well like this. I have been temped to fab a sheet metal type. Also a tube through the license plate area may provide better ram air effect.
