DIff seal replacement

DIff seal replacement
anybody done this job, think i can do it but what tool do you use to remove yoke screw?

I did this one, and as long as you have an impact wrench, it goes pretty easy and is not that bad. I used an air unit to do the job, but it can be done manually with a breaker bar, just harder to break the nut.

very simple, take drive line out, take yoke off, pop seal out, pop new seal in, reinstall yoke, reinstall drive line, check diff gear oil, done.

Part # 6116 for the Dana 36, or #6117 for the Dana 44
I just did this last weekend on my 92, not a hard job at all. The seals are cheap, I would order 2 just in case you mess one up on the install

Something to consider
Replacing the seal is not the problem.
You may want to mark the nut so you can tighten it to the same spot so you do not change your preload. While removing the nut, mark the location where the nut releases from the threads counting the rotations.
