Default LT4 Tuning Options... [HELP]

Hey Guys,

I have a 96 LT4 Corvette and have been considering my tuning options. I have searched the archives and have found some info, but still have some others

Should I...

Convert to OBD1... Then purchase a tuning software and upload an LT4 tune. Is it as simple as just swapping out the PCM for a 94-95 LT1 6spd Camaro/Corvette PCM and soldering in a resistor for the knock sensor? Where could I get a stock LT4 tune?

Keep OBD2... and get LT1 Edit for OBDII??

I hope this topic has been beaten to death... If it has, i apologize, but could not find any exact information

Make sure you get the Vette computer if you do the conversion. I have a Camaro ECM and I am getting codes from the CCM. The car runs fine but the SYS on the dash is getting on my nerves. I am about ready to buy the LT1 edit and put my stock ECM back in the car.

Bad advice. The F/B PCMs work fine, and you don't pay the corvette tax for them.

I have LT1 Edit for OBD II. TunerCat has a program as well.

I left OBD II in there for a couple reasons...

Ease of passing emissions testing...They just plug in and it's good. No treadmill test.

Added diagnostics. Makes troubleshooting much easier IMO.

I replied in the other thread but I'm pretty sure regardless of whether you use a Fbody or Vette PCM that if your CCM doesn't match the year of PCM you'll get the blinking SYS light.

On my 96' with 95 PCM I have tried both an Fbody and Corvette PCM and tried both Fbody and Corvette .bin files - in every case/combination I get the blinking SYS light and code C81 in the CCM.

I was just living with it, but now I'm getting rid of the CCM altogether and running all Autometer gauges so this all moot now . . .
