O.K. I'm the dinosaur with the 84. I'm putting together a greatly modified crossram intake and I want to tag along here and see if I can learn something. To start, I have a laptop and would like to have good diagnostic equipment. Looking at Diacim and Ease. Should I be looking elsewhere and is sufficient data available from these systems to begin to understand what's going on "in there"? Thanks, Larry

Don't waste your time with either of these. Costs $$$$$$ and if you're just going to use it on your one car, it's a real waste IMO. This is the whole reason JoBy and I developed WinALDL. A FREEBIE ALDL reader program for Windows. Reads in 160 baud for the '82 Vettes, and the upgraded ECM (1227747) ECM as well. Makes tuning a LOT easier. The program is free, and the hardware costs about $5 to make.
