So I'm trying to replace a broken driver's window switch in my '87 and, for the life of me, I can't figure out how to get the plastic panel over the center tunnel out.
I have removed two screws at the rear of the panel in the glovebox, two just forward of that, and two screws in the dash panel just below the HVAC controls. Now, the panel is stuck in the front by what feels like the cigarette lighter, or maybe there's a lip in the tunnel panel that sets it in behind the HVAC panel, or maybe there are some screws I'm missing - I can't tell.
Can anyone help me out with this? I've replaced this switch before, but it was so damn long ago I can't remember if I had the same problem.
So, where are the screws located on the panel around the radio? I found the two by the HVAC, but are the other ones near it on the front, or are they on a side, or are they all the way over by the gauge cluster?

From memory the center comes out with two screws down by the shifter, two side screws by the breadbox, and it goes behind the part that covers the gauges so that must be loosen with all the screws above the gauges. All the screws are visable.

I did all 3 of my panels recently (cluster, info center/hvac, and console). IIRC, you have to remove or at least loosen all 3 to get the center console trim out. I think info center/HVAC/radio panel has two screws on the left nested under the gauge cluster trim. There are two on the right by the breadbox and two below that you can see. You need to take this piece off because the center console has two tabs that go up behind and share the same screws. I'd remove them all because it's easy, and if you don't, you risk breaking off the mounting tabs if you just try to bend it up enough to get the center console trim out.
