Autozone wanted 7 bucks each for AC's and 8 bucks each for ngk tr-55's. Thats over 60 bucks for plugs!!!!
I thought that was high. I only drive this car a few thousand miles a year. Its a 94 with 30,000 miles.
Would you guys please list the type and price of the plugs you use and wires? So I can compare and contrast. If I find something online, I'm just going to order.
I would really appreciate it. I didnt check any other store yet. Hell, I might even go with the champion plugs. They were only a few bucks each.
Thanks!!!

c4, thanks for the reply. I just found some autolite single platinum AP106 plugs for 2.79 each. I'll probably go with those and the Bosch Wires, or the Bosch Platinum plus plugs 4005, for 2.99 each.
You don't need to waste that much money on expensive gimmick plugs. I use the standard $1.95 AC Delco plug in mine. Also I used Taylor wires from Summit racing.
Why would you even want to mess with them? The set you have will last~100k.Same with wires. At 30K you do not need to be messing with them and will see no difference except mabey for the worse. Bad things can happen when you start changing things that do not need it.

sorry guys,
I didnt mention I took out a few of the plugs and they were black. Actually, you can scrape the carbon off with your fingernail. I think it might be from slow driving and not driving at all. No check engine light came on. After I get them all out, I'd like to post pics of them.

AC Delco all the way. Especially if it's a DD. There's no way a "better spark plug" will give you any noticeable difference.
I can feel the difference when I have bosch platinium plugs. Esp at the low rpms. But the effect goes away after a few thousand miles. The ignition on the LT1 is so hot that it probably doesn't matter over the long haul anyway. I stick with the inexpensive AC delcos.

I just bought some NGK TR6's for less than $2 each at Advanded Auto Parts. Go with MSD 8mm wires. I buy most of my performance parts, and you can get plugs from Summit Racing.

How true that is!!!
Got a Interstate close by? Just get on it and run about 80 for 20 or 30 miles. That'll help clean it out some. Unless it's skipping I'd leave it alone.
I'm also using the NGK's except the TR6's for nitrous. They are good plugs and cost around $2 each. If you don't change your own plugs I would learn and swap them out every year or two. I'm using MSD 8.5mm wires but you will have less trouble fitting the taylors.
Absent some obvious ignition problem - why change the plugs? Design compensates for wear meaning that fuel delivery will be adjusted to maintain the proper air/fuel ratio. If it's running rich, you may have something else going on and you should scan it to find out. If it turns out normal, you're wasting your time and money. Buy yourself a scanner or get some free software and use a laptop.

Huh??????
I know I didn't spend $60 for my NGK's a few months ago. IIRC they were $4 or $5 each. I probably got them from summit with my wires and other parts.
Just bought Autolite platinums for the FORD the other day, they were $3 each. Replaced a set of bosch platinums in that car. I was dissapointed in how long the lasted, less than three years and a lot less than 60,000 miles. Had intermittent misses on 2 cylinders in that car. I won't buy them again.
