need help with timing
i put the new cam in and aligned the gears using the dot over dot method. the car seems to be running fine. only thing is that the balancer timing mark is at 4deg after when the gear dots are lined up. i figure the balancer probably slipped. thats ok, but what do i set the timing at? i figure my new static compression ratio to be 10.55 w/ dynamic ratio at 8.9 w/ the new cam.
also, is there any way to adjust timing w/o using a light and balancer mark? it seems as if the more i manually advance the timing by turning the dist. the faster the car idles (w/ the computer timing wire? disconected)
