I am thinking about replacing the pre-cats on my '89 with the Y-pipe that eliminates them. These Y-pipes are advertised in all the major Corvette catalogs, but can someone who has done this change recommend a good supplier of the y-pipe? Also, are there any other suggestions or things I should be on the look-out for before doing this work?
I put a Dynomax in mine, from ecklers with to flowmaster muffelers, the muffelers were 2 and a 1/4 on the inlet, they were way to loud, then after a month of not being able to stand it any more, I order 2 dynomax muffelers and still to loud, I sound like some 18 year old going down the road. hehe. now im going with the the 2 and a 1/4 dynomax y-pipe, cat and tail pipes with a std. walker and the inlet strechted to 2& a 1/4 and its perfect, hiflow and quiet except for the tiny sound the headers give you.
Thanks, everyone for the replies. I am a little leery about getting the stainless steel one, as I've had some problems with stainless steel exhaust parts in the past----still, I will think about it a bit more. Again, I thank everyone for their replies.
