Default New Cat Converter.

I just got my converter for my 89 and the air line fitting is straight and the stock one is flared. What do I do to clamp it?

Because the air pressure from the AIR pump is not very high, just use some hose clamps on the flex hose between the two pipes.

If your old connector hose is hard or brittle, just use a short length of heater hose as a replacement. It may only last 3-4 years before it will need replacing but at least it's cheap

You should be able to pick up a catalytic converter installation kit from any local auto parts store, its just silicone hose and hose clamps, no need to fry heater hose, costs about $10.

Then you could cut the flared end off your stock line and clamp the hose on either end, like mentioned.

Thanks for the info.I had done a search and on page 16 someone had said to use 1/2 compression fittings. So off to the hardware store I went.I cut the pipe to fit and it worked perfectly.Wow!My cats most have been clogging for a while.I can't believe the performance difference. Its fun to drive again.

Where did you pick up the new cat? I'm looking to replace mine this summer.
