rev limiter/ electircal gremlin
I hit what felt like a fuel cut rev-limiter, however I know there is no way I spun her to 10k rpm.
Really not sure what happened; after everything was up to operating temps I hammered it in 1st around 23-2500 rpm, it took off like normal but then cut out hard, no idea what I tached it to, was watching the road. After that it ran fine, idled fine, tached up nice and slow (didn't have the guts to hammer it again).
I have hit fuel cut rev-limiters on different vehicles and thats what this felt like (smooshed into seat, then bam hitting forehead on steering wheel)
I think I have a finiky oil pressure switch. Car always starts and catches like normal, occasionally it will cut out and die after a few revolutions and will need slight pedal to start again and not die. If the car is running is the fuel pump circuit always paralleled with the oil pressure switch? What occasion would cause the car to run from either the fp relay OR the pressure switch under normal operating conditions but not at the same time? About all I can theorize is the oil pressure switch couldn't handle the spike and cut the fuel pump power for a second.
Thanks,
Mike
