Default What's going on here???....

Everyday driver...143k on chassis, 12k on New Jasper and ZF 6 sp. installed last Aug. Naturally hoses & belts changed. Had 3 OS failures last 6 mos..only routine tire & battery changes 12yrs prior... trouble free.

Distributer Failures

1. 4 mos ago OS failure due to pin hole leak in TB hose & OS to coil harness plug separation..good reason.

2. 2 mos ago Jegs OS installed found defective out of box. Chinese anyone? Still like their sweet & sour pork w a side of fried lice.

3. another Jegs arrived, installed ops normal for 2mos. Give em the benefit of a doubt can't get enough.

4. Currently Jegs crap is being replaced w the famous MSD* Still trouble shooting for related deeper issues maybe i.e. thrown codes, coil, module etc., FP OK.

* Header gaskets replaced & 1.6 RR's installed prior to step 4. Harness & wires undisturbed. Valves carefully zero lashed statically TDC & @ idle. Don't believe these corrections contributed. Fresh out of the shop idled quietly and accelerated like a homesick angel....but then...
after 5 min test run, eng faultered @ speed 72mph. Couldn't get anything above 72 then died in front of the shop. No restart.

No doubt the "little red *****", has experienced many heat cycles @ 143K (brittle & rotten wiring)

Gents what's your best shot on this? Apologize for the windy rant just concerned.

Cheers
Check your 6
