Hello everyone, I have a 1987 corvette that has developed a clacking sound from the motor. I shut the motor off because I first thought that it was a bent push rod . I restarted the engine and tried to narrow down the sound and I noticed that it was coming from under the plenum area of the TPI. I shut the engine off to connect a fuel gauge and then tried to start the car. When I turned the key to run without starting the engine a loud clicking noise was heard and the fuel gauge went from 40 to 20 LBS. a few times and then stopped at 43 LBS and held at that pressure. I need your help with ideas on what the problem might be. thanks.
If you are shopping for injectors you should consider ditching the stock multecs... you can update to Bosch III for not much more than the cost of getting a set cleaned, maybe less if you have to buy another injector from a parts store too. Theres been so much talk on here that you don't even need to use the search function to find a ton of threads.
I've been on the fuelinjectionconnection web site quite often and they have the best prices for a set of injectors that I have seen anywhere. When I order new injectors that is where I will order them..
I thought that it might be a broken injector. today I drove it and the noise was gone but it had a misfire. should I also check the regulator? thanks.
I wouldn't think that it's the regulator. If you get it where the FP drops again, try tapping on the injectors with a screwdriver and see if it starts firing again - then you have found the bad one.

BTW - FIC has a great reputation and prices. When I replace mine I'll be getting them there.
